Returning for its second year at the Breakbulk & Project Cargo Conference, Breakbulk Academy included a two-part, interactive case study analyzing the complex nature of delivering project cargo on Thursday, April 24. The focus, over the course of two sessions, included high-level discussion about sourcing, regulatory issues, and transportation challenges. An experienced team of subject matter experts guided attendees through the critical steps required in the design, procurement, and movement of such cargo. Attendees also collaborated to propose recommendations when unplanned, uncontrollable events disrupted well-laid plans and forced them to find alternative solutions so that they could sustain delivery promises.

On Friday, April 25, the academy provided an opportunity for industry experts across the carrier, shipper, forwarding, and ports and terminals spectrum to meet with interested newcomers and students in an hourlong “Introduction to the Industry” session.

Full-time students enrolled in a logistics or shipping-related educational track at an accredited university or college were welcome to attend Breakbulk25 at no charge.

On Thursday morning, April 24, the Breakbulk team held a meet-and-greet "icebreaker" session aimed at industry newcomers, industry women, and other interested industry members who wanted to strengthen their networking connections.
